Welcome to Lilly and Macy's Flat Stanley page. This project can be a great way to teach our kids (and ourselves!) about the world we live in, and the diverse people and places that are all around us. I hope to broaden my children's views on the world and have them wanting to learn more about other people from far off lands! If you would like to help the girls out by having them sent to you, please let me know. total miles traveled so far - 14, 724 miles

Hanoi, Vietnam
welcome to Hanoi, Vietnam! With a population of around 6.5 million it is the 2nd largest city in Vietnam. Several of these pictures were taken in front of the famous Red Bridge over Hoan Kiem lake. Hanoi has also been the capital for over 1000 years The building in the background is Thap Rua, or "Tortoise Tower", a 3 storey pagoda which was built in the 1800s. As you can see the streets of Hanoi are bustling with scooters and street food. Popular dishes include Bún, a noodle dish, and phở, a flat noodle soup. Hanoi is twinned with several cities around the world, including Toulouse, France, and Ankara, Turkey.
Many thanks to Ailie Brown for taking these photos!
Next stop - Hungary!
